Mary Ellen Humphreys

Mary was born in June 1894 in Stansty.¹

  The 1911 census shows all the children born at Stansty (although Mary Ellen had left home by then)

Mary's father was William Humphreys and her mother was Elizabeth Eddowes. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Eddowes and Mary Ann Hughes. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Richard, James, Arthur, Harry, William, Catherine, Elizabeth and Florence. She was the oldest of the nine children.
