Ann was born in May 1739 in Lower Darwen and her baptism took place on May 27th, 1739 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Blackburn).1  Ann's father was Edmund Howarth and her mother was Anne.  Her paternal grandparents were Giles Howarth and Mary Yates. She had three brothers and a sister, named Edmund, Giles, Jonathan and Ann. She had an adopted sister named Betty.  She died at the age of 1 in April 1741 in Turton.  She was buried on April 21st, 1741 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Blackburn).1
