Jane's father was Benjamin Holt and her mother was Ann Green. She had a brother and seven sisters, named Benjamin, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Martha, Hannah and Catherine.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.

‌Jane and John were married in a religious ceremony on February 4th, 1855 at St. Ann (Liverpool).³   The family line is yet to be completed.
