Esther's father was John Holt and her mother was Ann Crook. She had a brother and three sisters, named William, Elizabeth, Mary and Ann.  She was the youngest of the five children.  She died at the age of 69 in February 1863 in Harwood.  She was buried on February 28th, 1863.²
