William Heap

William was born in 1828 in Tottington.¹

William's father was James Heap and his mother was Hannah Mather. His maternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Ann Entwistle. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Richard, John, James, Henry, Alice and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the eight children.
