Ralph was born on June 24th, 1909 in Turton and his baptism took place on August 1st, 1909 at Christ Church, Walmsley.1 2  Ralph's father was Luke Haslam and his mother was Mary Kay. He had a brother and two sisters, named Luke, Alice and Eliza.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 87 in February 1997 in Manchester.3
