Ada's father was Michael Ellis Hamer and her mother was Sarah Prudence Cheney. Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Hamer and Sarah Jane Stott. She had a brother named Herbert. She was the older of the two children. She died at the age of 77 on August 3rd, 1952 in Western Australia.¹
