Benjamin was born in September 1607 in Guiseley and his baptism took place on September 27th, 1607. Benjamin's father was William Grimshaw and his mother was Sibbell Marshall. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, Christopher and Mercy.  He was the youngest of the four children.
