Mercy was born in 1808 in Bolton and her baptism took place there on April 16th, 1809.1 2  Mercy's father was William Grime and her mother was Mary Grime. She had a brother and two sisters, named John, Sarah and Ellen.  She was the second youngest of the four known children.  She died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, Phthisis (i.e. Tuberculosis), at the age of 44 on April 14th, 1852 in Bolton.  She was buried on April 18th, 1852 at St. Peter's (Bolton).3 4

‌Mercy and James were married in a religious ceremony on June 30th, 1833 at St. Peter's (Bolton) by a curate and witnessed by John Grime & James Liptrot.5  They had a son and three daughters, named William, Ellen, Mary and Esther.  There are no more children.
