Betsy's father was Abraham Fitton and her mother was Jane Mather. Her maternal grandparents were James Mather and Catherine Rawsthorn or ROSTRON. She had five brothers and two sisters, named John, William, Robert, James, Thomas, Ann and Mary. She died at the age of 1 in 1857 in Bolton.
