Thomas' father was John Eddowes and his mother was Ann Gittins. He had three brothers and a sister, named John, Edward, Richard and Martha. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 73 on October 21st, 1849 in Worthen.

- In 1841, Thomas and Mary (60 farmer & 55) were at Bon Weston, Wortherm with (assumed) sons George and Richard (25 & 25). Also at Worthern were Richard and Martha Eddowes (borth 35, farmer), probably Thomas's cousin.
