Lydia was born on December 31st, 1814 in Holmfirth and her christening took place on February 5th, 1815 in Wesleyan (Holmfirth).1  Lydia's father was Daniel (Dan) Crosland and her mother was Mary Wagstaff. She had six brothers named James, George, John, Jonathan, Joseph and Joshua.  She was the fifth oldest of the seven children.
