Samuel was born on January 26th, 1810 in Bolton and her baptism took place on March 7th, 1810 at Bank Street Unitarian.1  Samuel's father was Arthur Bromiley and her mother was Ellen Entwistle.  Her paternal grandparents were Arthur Bromiley and Mary Croshaw. She had two brothers and two sisters, named James, John, Nancy and Esther.  She was the second youngest of the five children.
