George's father was Richard Booth and his mother was Margaret Martin. He had two brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Levi and Florence.  He was the second oldest of the four children. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Joseph, Adam, Richard, John, Betty, Alice, Sarah and Margaret.
