Nancy was born in 1805 in Little Bolton and her baptism took place on July 21st, 1805 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Nancy's father was Edmund Bolton and her mother was Mary Davenport. She had six brothers and five sisters, named John, James, Robert, Sarah, Edmund, John, Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, Hannah and Dolly.  She was the eleventh oldest of the twelve children.
