Thomas, known as Tom, was born on November 27th, 1903 in Birkenhead.1  Tom's father was Harry Bayley and his mother was Ellen (Nell) Brown.  His paternal grandparents were Augustus Henry Bayley and Mary Bunnell; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Brown and Mary Ann Postans. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Gus, Arthur, Daisy and Helen.  He was the second oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 46 in 1949 in Birkenhead.2
