Edward was born about 1854 in Nantwich.1  Edward's father was Henry Bayley and his mother was Mary Davies.  His paternal grandparents were John Bayley and Elizabeth Shenton. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Augustus, Edward, Thomas, Beatrice, Mary and Louisa.  He was the second oldest of the seven known children.  He died in March 1855 in Nantwich.1
