Sarah's father was John Banks and her mother was Rachel Holt. Her paternal grandparents were Philip Banks and Sarah Bolton. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Charles, John, Richard, Mary, Mary and Margaret. She had an adopted brother and an adopted sister, named Peter and Elizabeth. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Thomas, Sarah, Mary and Elizabeth.
