Elizabeth (Betty) Banks

Elizabeth, known as Betty, was born on April 22nd, 1831 in Rumworth and her baptism took place on March 26th, 1837 at St. Mary (Deane).^1 2

Betty's father was Philip Banks and her mother was Sarah Bolton.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Bolton and Mary Whitaker. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, John, Richard, Maria, Mary, Ann and Alice.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 70 in 1901 in Padiham.³
