Sarah was born in 1856 in Little Hulton.¹

Birth Notes

Sarah's father was William Ashton and her mother was Ann Mather. Her maternal grandparents were Joshua Grundy and Betty Mather. She had five brothers and three sisters, named James, Joshua, Jacob, Joseph, John, Elizabeth, Alice and Ellen. She was the second oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 1 in 1857 in Little Hulton.¹
