Annette R. Trauernicht, 91, Beatrice, died Monday morning, Dec. 27, 2004, at Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center. She was born Jan. 12, 1913, at rural Barneston, was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Barneston, and graduated from Barneston High School in 1931. She was married to Menne T. Trauernicht on Feb. 9, 1936, at Beatrice, and they lived and farmed on various farms in Gage County. They bought their own home and farm in 1962, and moved to Beatrice in 1988. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice, the Dorcas Circle and tied quilts. She was a former member of the MM (Merry Mothers) Club, and enjoyed gardening, canning and her flower garden.
Survivors: daughter, Audrey Olsan and husband Ernest of Gretna; grandchildren, David Olsan of Gretna, Stacey Fletcher and husband Dustin of Gretna, and Amy Olsan of Ashland; brothers, Harold Erdmann and wife Valeria of Crofton, James Erdmann and wife Eva of Fort Collins, Colo.; brothers-in-law, Lammert Trauernicht of Beatrice, Walter Trauernicht and wife Ila of Plymouth, Harry Koch of Nebraska City; sisters-in-law, Lena Johnson of Beatrice, Grace Brinkhuis of Sioux Falls, S.D., Evelyn Erdmann Gerdes of Beatrice; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stielf and Minnie (Ottersberg) Erdmann; husband, Menne (May 13, 1998); daughter, Janice (1999); sisters, Anna Worm, Marie Colgrove, Louise Erdmann, Claryce Koch; brothers, Stielf, Albert, Henry, John, William, Fred, Edward and Arthur Erdmann.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, St. John Lutheran Church, Sixth and Washington streets, Beatrice, Pastor David Kramer and Pastor Joann Kramer officiating. Family prayer service: 10:45 a.m. Thursday in the church chapel. Burial: Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Beatrice. The body will lie in state until 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Fox Funeral Home, 19th and Garfield streets, Beatrice, and one hour preceding the services on Thursday at the church.
