- Annette R. Trauernicht, 91 years of age, of Beatrice, Nebraska died at the Beatrice Community Hospital on Monday morning, December 27, 2004. She was born on January 12, 1913 at rural Barneston, Nebraska and was baptized and confirmed at the St. John Lutheran Church of Barneston, Nebraska. She graduated from Barneston High School in 1931. She was married to Menne T. Trauernicht on February 9, 1936 at Beatrice and they lived and farmed on various farms in Gage County. They bought their own home and farm in 1962 and later moved to Beatrice in 1988. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice, Nebraska, was a member of the Dorcas Circle and tied quilts. She was a former member of the MM (Merry Mothers) Club. She enjoyed gardening, canning and her flower garden.
Survivors include one daughter, Audrey Olsan and her husband Ernest of Gretna, Nebraska. Three grandchildren, David Olsan of Gretna, Nebraska, Stacey Fletcher and her husband Dustin of Gretna, Nebraska and Amy Olsan of Ashland, Nebraska. Two brothers, Harold Erdmann and his wife Valeria of Crofton, Nebraska and James Erdmann and his wife Eva of Fort Collins, Colorado. Three brothers-in-law, Lammert Trauernicht of Beatrice, Nebraska, Walter Trauernicht and his wife Ila of Plymouth, Nebraska and Harry Koch of Nebraska City, Nebraska. Three sisters-in-law, Lena Johnson of Beatrice, Nebraska, Grace Brinkhuis of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Evelyn Erdmann Gerdes of Beatrice, Nebraska. Many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Stielf and Minnie Ottersberg Erdmann, her husband Menne who died on May 13, 1998, her daughter Janice who died on May 7, 1999, four sisters Anna Worm, Marie Colgrove, Louise Erdmann and Claryce Koch and eight brothers Stielf, Albert, Henry, John, William, Fred, Edward and Arthur Erdmann.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor David Kramer and Pastor Joann Kramer officiating. Burial will be in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery of rural Beatrice, Nebraska. A family prayer service will be held on Thursday at 10:45 A.M. in the church chapel. A memorial has been established to the St. John Lutheran Church and the family’s choice with the Fox Funeral Home in charge. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice, Nebraska until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday evening and on Thursday at the church one hour preceding the services.
