Hieska, known as Kate, was born on September 12th, 1886 in Germany.  Kate's father was Gerd Gerdes Zimmermann and her mother was Gretke Frieden Trauenicht.  Her paternal grandparents were Gerhard Zimmermann and Wübcke Margaretha Hanken. She had five brothers and a sister, named Gerhard, Fred, Ahrend, Mino, Ralph and Margaret.  She died at the age of 53 on April 6th, 1940 in Iowa.  She was buried at the Wayne Zion Cemetery, Jones County, Iowa.1
