William was born on November 12th, 1860.1   William's father was Wilhelm Wilkening and his mother was Dorothea Neitert.  His paternal grandparents were Hans Henry Wilkening and Engel S.M. Hasemann. He had a brother and three sisters, named Henry, Emelia, Sophia and Lena.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 61 on July 28th, 1922.1 



William's first family

William and Mathilda were married.  They had two sons and a daughter, named August, William and Dorothea.


William's second family

William and Louise were married.  They had a daughter named Minnie.
