  • Tom Leroy Trauernicht, 57, of Scottsbluff, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at Beverly Healthcare. A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2005 at the Jones Mortuary in Mitchell with Pastor Scott Mathis officiating. Abiding by his wishes, cremation has taken place at the Jolliffe Funeral Home Crematory in Scottsbluff. Memorials can be made to the family.
    
    Tom was born August 4, 1947 in Scottsbluff, NE to Fred and Daisy (Reed) Trauernicht. He grew up and attended elementary school in Geneva, NE and high school in Mitchell, NE. After high school, Tom served in the National Guard for three years. In 1996, Tom earned an associates degree and graduated with honors from WNCC.
    
    Tom married Inabelle Worden on September 26, 1969. Tom worked for several years in the light and water department and served as a police officer for the city of Mitchell for several years. Tom was an avid outdoorsman, who loved being out on the lake in the boat with his son and grandsons.
    
    He is survived by his mother, Daisy Trauernicht, of York, NE; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Tom Snider of McCool Junction, NE; brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Diane Trauernicht of Mitchell, NE; son and daughter-in-law Tony and Terri Trauernicht of Gering, NE; step daughter and son-in-law Denise and Todd Ewing of Mitchell, NE. Grandchildren Travis, Dylan, and Gracie Trauernicht of Gering, NE. Brianna Ewing of Mitchell, NE. Several nieces and nephews, foster grandchildren, Charlie, David, and Sam Hoover, and special friends Tammy and Charles Hoover, and all of the Staff at Beverly Healthcare.
    
    He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Trauernicht, and his grandparents.
