Tamme was born on May 15th, 1856 in Felde, Aurich, Lower Saxony, Germany.1   Tamme's father was Focke Focken (Tammen) and his mother was Tjede Willms Aden. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Willm, Willm, Focke, T, Maria and Foolke.  He was the youngest of the seven children. He had three half-sisters named Gesche, Aaltje and Maria.  He died in Felde, Aurich, Lower Saxony, Germany.1
