Robert E. Trauernicht, 65 years of age, of Beatrice, NE. passed away at the Good Samaritan Center in Beatrice, NE. Saturday night, December 1, 2007. He was born on April 8, 1942 at Beatrice, NE. to Edwin and Anna (Parde) Trauernicht. He was a 1960 graduate of Filley High School, Filley, NE. He served his country in the United States Army Military Police in Vietnam in 1964 and 1965. He had been a stunt car driver, was a professional precision car driver, and held a Sr. Professional Golf Association card. He and Judy Cordell were married on March 17, 2001. He was a farmer and a JROTC instructor at the Grundy County High School in Palmer, TN before moving to Beatrice in 2005. He was a member of the Stuntsman Association; Christ Community Church in McMinnville, TN; and attended the Christ Community Church in Beatrice, NE. He enjoyed golfing, hiking, traveling, walking, and boating. He was an established builder and an avid football fan.
Survivors include his wife Judy; sons Christopher and his wife Bobbi of Pasco, Washington, and Justin of Beatrice, NE.; grandson Jacob of Pasco, Washington; brother Walter Trauernicht and his wife Audrey of Beatrice, NE.; sister Janet Dissmeyer and her husband Melvin of Adams, NE.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Anna (Parde) Trauernicht; sister Gladys Hagemeier (1996); and brothers in law Leonard Huls and Donald Hagemeier.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the Christ Community Church in Beatrice, NE. with Reverend Jack Magness officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, NE. Military graveside services will be provided by the Bitting-Norman Post #27, American Legion in Beatrice, NE. A closed casket visitation will be held from 9-6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 A.M. Wednesday at the church. A memorial has been established to the Gideon's with Allen and Mary Ann Kreuscher in charge. Messages of condolence may be sent to rich@griffithshovendick.com. They will be forwarded to the family.
