Mary was born in 1739 in Shermans Dale, Perry, Pennsylvania, USA.1   Mary's father was James Murray and her mother was Janet "Jennet" Armit. She had three brothers named Col. James, John and William.  She died at the age of 79 in 1818 in Potts Grove, Northumberland, Pennsylvania, USA.  She was buried in 1818 in Chillisquaque Cemetery.2 1
