John L. was born on June 16th, 1893 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery, Indiana, USA.1 John L.'s father was Melchior Mayer and his mother was Mary Anna Lorenz. His maternal grandparents were J. A. Henry Lorenz and Augusta Reinhard. He had two brothers named Karl Henry and William Stephen. He was the youngest of the three children. He died at the age of 85 on July 22nd, 1978 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery, Indiana, USA. He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery (Indiana).2 -
