Hans-Joachim was born on 11-Aug-1952.  Hans-Joachim's father was Willi Smollich and his mother was Charlotte Schulz.  His paternal grandparents were Michael Smollich and Friedericke Prischmann.  He was the youngest of two children.  He had a brother named Gerhard.  He died, at the age of 19, on 19-Dec-1971 in an accident or as a result of an injury (Autounfall).
