Katharina's father was Pieter Pieters van der Schalje and her mother was Catharina Oliviers de Wilde.  Her paternal grandparents were Pieter Janse van der Schalie and Catalijn Plancke; her maternal grandparents were Jan Olivier and Elisabeth du Buijsson. She had a brother and seven sisters, named Pieter, Maria, Neeltje, Pieternella, Elisabeth, Elisabeth, Catharina and Gijsje. She had three half-brothers named Moses, Joannes and Jan.  She died before 1709.
