Jan was born on January 22nd, 1754 in Schiedam and his baptism took place there on January 22nd, 1754.  Jan's father was Joannes Bosman and his mother was Cecilia Cornelisdr (H)olierhoek.  His maternal grandparents were Cornelis Holierhoek and Maritje/Marijntje Borrens. He had a sister named Elijzabetha.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 71 on September 17th, 1825.  He was buried on September 17th, 1825 in Schiedam.
