Bertha was born on November 13th, 1877.  Bertha's father was John Pilkington and her mother was Hannah Taylor. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Sam, William, Jack, Polly, Sarah, Alice and Ada.  She was the youngest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 91 on October 13th, 1969.
