    1911 census: age 24, living at 35 BROKEN CROSS MACCLESFIELD with wife Elizabeth (25, 2 years married), son George Shaw Hudson (age 11 ???), and father George Hudson.
    
    From Pam Shahlavi (his granddaughter) 2012: My grandfather Joseph went on to run his own business as a Suede and Leather Factor and he had an office in Manchester and branch office in Macclesfield.  He married my grandmother Elizabeth Shaw whose father and grandfather owned a silk mill in Macclesfield.  Joseph joined the Masons and his behaviour is descirbed by the family (with great disdain) that he began socialising and drinking (although how much of a problem this was by modern standards or how much was a feature of the Methodist attitudes to alcohol at that time I am unsure).  However he did appear to have an affair from which was produced a daughter whose whereabouts are unknown.  My grandmother left him and raised her four sons on her own one of whom died in a car accident.   Whilst they were estranged Joseph died himself at only 36 years old (dad was only 4 at the time) so sadly my father was raised without a father and consequently I never knew my grandfather.  William Arthur and Joseph had another brother who became a Methodist missionary in India and I am informed that he trained for that post at a centre in Parrs Wood, Didsbury, Manchester
