Simeon was born on October 4th, 1741 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut.1 Simeon's father was Simeon Stephens and his mother was Mercy Cotts. His paternal grandparents were Henry Stephens Jr and Elizabeth Fellows. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Jared, Abel, Roswell, Hannah, Anna and Elizabeth.
