Jedediah Stephens 
Jedediah was born on April 18th, 1770 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut.1 Jedediah's father was Jared Stephens Sr and his mother was Lucy Stewart. His paternal grandparents were Simeon Stephens and Mercy Cotts; his maternal grandparents were William Stewart Jr and Elizabeth Stephens. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Jared, Roswell, Eliphalet, Simeon, Lucy, Mary and Elizabeth. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.General Notes
