Pierre was born on November 3rd, 1670 in Beaupre, QC.1 Pierre's father was Pierre Gaignier (Gagne) and his mother was Louise Faure. His paternal grandparents were Louis Gasnier (Gagne) and Marie Michel; his maternal grandparents are Jean Faure and Ozanne Plancher. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Jean, Francois, Marie and Elisabeth. He was the oldest of the five children.-
