Edmond was born on March 29th, 1878 in Nainital, Uttarakhand, India and his baptism took place there on October 23rd, 1878.  Edmond's father was Mr James Macleod and his mother was Mrs Ellen Jane Bassett.  His paternal grandparents were Mr Donald Macleod and Mrs Ann Catherine Heron; his maternal grandparents were Mr Richard Bassett and Mrs Sarah NK.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 18 on August 8th, 1896 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.  He was buried on August 8th, 1896 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.
