Fred was born in 1872 in London.  Fred's father is William Fry Shiner and his mother is Henrietta Hawker.  He was an only child.  Fred is no longer alive.

‌Fred and Matilda were married on May 1st, 1901 in Kaiapoi at Frederick Clark's House.  They had six sons named Wiliam, Herietta, Jack, Blyth, Ellen and Phyllis.
