Donald was born in August 1960. Donald's father was Roger John Kain and his mother is Kathryn Fletcher. His paternal grandparents were John (Jack) Wolsey Kain and Rose Anne Read. He has a brother and a sister, named Graeme and Suzanne. He is the oldest of the three children. He has a half-brother named Ian.-
