Maria Luiza was born on August 31st, 1761 in Pinheiro, Monção and her baptism took place there.  Maria Luiza's father is Marcos Pereira Velho de Moscoso and her mother is Theresa de Jesus Rodrigues Villarinho.  Her paternal grandparents were Simão Pereira Velho de Moscoso and Maria  de Castro e Sousa; her maternal grandparents were Antonio Rodrigues Villarinho Soares and Anna de Caldas. She had a brother and three sisters, named Luiz Manoel Pereira Velho de, Maria Theresa, Rosa Caetana and Joanna Joaquina.  She was the oldest of the five children.  Maria Luiza is no longer alive.
