Ann was born in 1842. Ann's father was Samuel Martin and her mother was Sally Parker. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Daniel, Arthur, Elizabeth and Jane.  She was the second oldest of the five children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William and Rachael.
