Arcturus was born in 1901.  Arcturus' father was Sirius Black and his mother was Hesper Gamp (Black).  His paternal grandparents were Phineas Nigellus Black and Ursula Flint (Black).  He was the oldest of three children.  He had two brothers named Lycoris and Regulus.  He died, at the age of 90, in 1991.

Arcturus and Melania were married (further details are not known). They had a son and a daughter, named Lucretia and Orion.
