Andalu's father was Veera Swamy Meka and her mother was Saraswatamma Pinninti (Meka).  Her paternal grandparents were Venkata Swamy Meka and Rattamma Srikakilam (Meka). She had four brothers and four sisters, named Mastan, Venkateshwara, Venkata, Mohan, Veera, Chitti, Savitri and Tulasi/Saraswati.
