Margarida's father is Luis Guilherme Ferreira and her mother is Maria Dulce Morna Nascimento.  Her maternal grandparents were  João de Nobrega do Nascimento and  Matilde da Conceição de Freitas Morna.  She is the youngest of two children.  She has a sister named Ana Isabel.
