    Funeral Mrs. Gaspar Friday
    Mrs. Lambert Gaspar (nee Julia Meyer) passed away at her farm home east of Alton early Tuesday morning at 1:18 o'clock, after being bedfast since August 13.
    Funeral services will be held at St Joseph's Catholic church at Granville this Friday morning at 9 o'clock.
    A pioneer citizen of northwestern Iowa, Mrs. Gaspar was born at St Donatus, Iowa on October 4, 1859. In September 1883, she was married to Lambert Gaspar at Le Mars. After their marriage they operated a country store at Corn, near Kingsley, until the railroad built into Kingsley when they moved their store to that community. Mr. Gaspar freighted his supplies from Le Mars while operating the store at Corn.
    In 1900 they sold the Kingsley store and moved to a farm near there, and in 1907 purchased the old Joseph Budde homestead between Alton and Granville which was then home until the time of her death. Mr. Gaspar died four ears ago.
    A beautiful character who has the love and respect of her children and all who knew her, Mrs. Gaspar will be sadly missed. She was a devoted member of the Catholic Church.
    One child died in infancy, but eight others, all splendid citizens survive their parents, as follows:
    Bret, Orient S. D.; Nick at home; Will, Orient SD; Fay, Rock Valley; Lucy at home, Bernard at home, Betty, Sioux Falls, S.D. and Lawrence at home.
    Mrs. Gaspar was the last surviving member of her parent's family, leaving no brothers or sisters.
    Her only nephew John Meyer an undertaker at Mason City was in charge of the funereal.
