Mathilda Louisa's father was Frederik Andries George van Blerk and her mother was Maria Magdalena Fourie. Her paternal grandparents were Frederik Andries George van Blerk and Henrina Magdalena Mynhardt (van Blerk); her maternal grandparents were Philip Rudolf Fourie and Susanna Johanna Jacoba (Fourie). She had six brothers and five sisters, named Frederik Andries Georg, Rozier Bernardus, Louis Napoleon, Andries Christoffel, William Henry Stephen, Philip Rudolph, Hendrina Magdalena, Maria Magdalena, Louisa Elizabeth, Susanna Johanna Jacoba and Anna Catharina. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Gert Petrus, Johanna Lodewika, Maria Elizabeth and Frederika Johanna.General Notes
