Eric was born on June 14th, 1899 in Port Broughton, SA.1 Eric's father was Archibald Edward OCKENDEN and his mother was Florence Kate RIX. His paternal grandparents were William Marshall OCKENDEN and Mary Elizabeth BARRETT; his maternal grandparents were Frederick Henry RIX and Jane Elizabeth MUSSARED. He had a brother and a sister, named Frank and Majorie. He was the youngest of the three children.-
