Emma was born in 1817 and her christening took place on August 31st, 1817 in Littlehampton, Sussex, England.1  Emma's father was William OCKENDEN and her mother was Elizabeth HILLS. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Palmer, Albion, Elizabeth, Agnes and Caroline.  She was the second youngest of the six known children.
