John (Toliver) Taliaferro Shumate

John, known as Toliver, was born in 1777. Toliver's father was Samuel Shumate and his mother was Ann Pepper. His paternal grandparents were Daniel Shumate and Sarah Ann James. He had a brother named William. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 78 in 1855.
